Rajan
Rajan

Rajan (French and English)

Rajan interned with KPMG in Paris during his Year Abroad, working within the deal advisory team on high-profile buy and sell side deals. He now works for Paysafe Group.

‘I was able to enhance my skills in facilitating deals, intricate business analysis and industry research, whilst simultaneously developing a passion for the complexities in the processes of financial mergers and acquisitions. I became much more independent, and the experience of working in a pressurised corporate finance environment allowed me to learn a lot about myself.’

Helena (German and Business Studies)

Helen had wanted to work in the automobile industry since sixth form, and secured an internship in the logistics department of BMW in Munich.

‘I applied online through the BMW application portal and although I was rejected from my first choice, I was contacted by another department looking for an intern. I had multiple phone interviews and then was offered the job… The internship at BMW has given me experience at the international headquarters, which is relatively rare for applicants in the UK to have.’

Sam (Spanish and French)

Sam completed a marketing internship with the Kalapa clinic, a company based in Barcelona responsible for palliative care.

‘I was dealing with email correspondence between our patients and the company, arranging appointments with our doctors, manning the live chat on our website, creating content for the company’s website and finally translating materials from Spanish into English. The main value that I got out of the placement was in the area of translation, as I developed techniques for efficiently translating large documents… This placement has helped me to focus on my future and on the aspects of language that I enjoy.’
