Photo competition open to all undergraduate students of language

 Photo competition SMLC
Very soon Warwick University turns 50 years old! On top of this the Language departments are now part of a School of Modern Languages and Cultures. As a result of both of these developments our websites, publicity material and visuals will be given an overhaul and you can contribute and win prizes in to the bargain.

Whether you are in year one, two, on year abroad or in final year, you can enter as a student of languages at Warwick. We are looking for an original photograph by you, which captures and expresses the essence of language and culture in Europe: ideally all of the languages represented in our school, not simply. This will not be a logo so much as a banner image that we can use on websites and in social media. The image shown here (left) need not be a guide. Be creative. Be original. Perhaps try to avoid more obvious landmarks or icons - or if you use them, put a twist on them? Feel free to manipulate the image to good effect, but keep it HD!

To enter send a high definition photograph to Dr. James Hodkinson (j.r.hodkinson@warwick.ac.uk) by 12 noon on Friday Feb 20, 2015. Winners and cash prize (top prize of £100) announced during term 2, 2015!

Please remember:

1. You must certify that the image is your own original work and demonstrate this;
2. You must be prepared to grant the School full rights to use this image online and on paper;
3. You should enter as an individual, not a group and should be enrolled as an undergraduate within the School at Warwick, and be studying a language as a named component of your degree.

Good luck - and looking forward to seeing your entries!
