We will share employability skills and alumni stories, the year abroad, the content and scope of our Modern Languages degrees and additional tips for UCAS applications. Year 9 event: Language Learners as PeacemakersCoventry CathedralWe are collaborating on this occasion with Coventry Cathedral to mark the 80th anniversary since the end of World War Two and Warwick’s 60th birthday. The event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Coventry Cathedral and will allow students in Year 9 to explore the themes of peace and reconciliation through language learning. |

Year 11 Languages and CareersThis event is for students in Year 11 and will be a forum to explore the academic skills, personal enrichment and careers opportunities that the study of languages can provide. Students will develop the following:
Students will access three different sessions throughout the day, a taster session in a new language (Korean, Russian, Chinese TBC) a society and culture session and a careers and employability session. The sessions will be delivered by our SMLC academics, Warwick alumni and finalists returning from their year abroad. The day will be supported by our wonderful team of SMLC student ambassadors! |

Christmas Card CompetitionRuns from Friday, November 21 to Wednesday, December 10. Schools are invited to submit their students entries in Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 to this competition from 21 November to 9 December. Winners in each key stage will receive a £10 shopping voucher and certificate.
