French Film Screening
As part of our Routes into Languages programme we are really pleased to offer pupils the opportunity to attend a French film masterclass here on campus in The Faculty of Arts.
Event: French Film Screening of “La HaineLink opens in a new window”. The film follows three young men and their time spent in the French suburban ghetto "la banlieue" over a span of twenty-four hours. It has a 15 certificate and will be shown in French with English subtitles.
Date: Wednesday 19 March 1:30-4pm Selected extracts from the film will be shown with associated and suitable language-based activities to engage and challenge the students. These will be designed and delivered by French film specialist Dr.Reece Goodall and appropriate to the A' level syllabus. It is preferable for the students to have seen the film before the event as the talk will assume this.
Year group: suitable for Years 12 or 13 students of French (possibly those in Y11 interested in taking A'level French)
Sign up: Please sign up by Friday 7 March if you would like to bring a group of pupils to this film event. There is NO COST to schools for this event, but you will need to upload a letter from a member of your school’s SLT which confirms that you have permission to attend. A maximum of 15 pupils per school will be allowed and the cinema has limited capacity so places will be allocated on a first come first served basis
