Stephen Spender Trust and Public Engagement: Developing Effective and Sustainable Partnerships with Universities and Researchers

The Stephen Spender Trust Link opens in a new window is a charity that celebrates multilingualism and literary translation through a range of initiatives, including creative translation education programmes and prizes to promote languages, enrich intercultural awareness, raise confidence amongst young people and widen participation in education. Visit the Stephen Spender Trust website to find out more about their work.

Since 2021, SST has been increasingly working in partnership with universities on public engagement initiatives.

This has led to two questions: a) How can SST make partnerships with universities more efficient and sustainable collaborations? b) How can SST use their expertise to support and upskill academics, especially PhDs/ECRs?

To investigate these questions, I am doing an AHRC-funded research placement with the Stephen Spender Trust.
