We have had a special summer on campus with graduation ceremonies returning in person for the first time in three years! We were very keen to invite our 2020 and 2021 GSD graduates back to campus for the 'Warwick Celebrates' events. These graduations were long overdue, postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We also had the pleasure of welcoming our newest graduates to the GSD alumni community at our summer ceremony on Monday 18 July.
The GSD community had a busy time at COP26! From speaking on panels to featuring on the big screen, our staff, students, and graduates had their say at this year's global summit.
We are delighted to share the news that Luke Netherclift, a recent GSD and Business Studies graduate, was one of the winners of Warwick’s Outstanding Student Contribution Awards (OSCAs)!
Earlier this year, Maddie Booth, a Politics, International Studies and GSD graduate, led a partnership project to help students interested in careers in sustainability. In her role as Sustainability Officer at Solihull College and University Centre, along with the Sustainable Development team at Solihull Council, Maddie organised online webinars and resources featuring local businesses, universities, and other organisations. Staff, current students, and alumni from the GSD Department were involved in the project, sharing their experiences to help students learn more about sustainability careers.
