Global Sustainable Development graduate wins prestigious contribution award

A student who recently graduated as part of our GSD Class of 2024 has won a prestigious award in recognition of their outstanding contributions both academically and toward social causes.

    Kirsty Reed is one of a few selected graduates who received Warwick’s OSCA prize, which celebrates gifted students who campaign for good causes, fundraise, start small businesses and work with local charities.

    Warwick Students Visit Design and Science Summer School in Slovenia

    Supported by EUTOPIA funding, between 8th - 12th July 2024 three students from the School for Cross-Faculty Studies (SCFS) attended the fourth Design + Science Summer School.

    Hosted by the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) in their Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO), the Summer School was structured around various phases of learning.

    Summer Graduation 2024 Welcomes Back GSD Alumni

    With graduation for many of our students just around the corner (Monday 22nd July 2024), we are pleased to welcome back one of our GSD alumni as a keynote speaker for the 2024 summer graduation ceremony.

    Fred Betley was part of our first ever cohort of GSD students following our degree’s launch in 2016, graduating with a BASc in Sociology and Global Sustainable Development.

    Design Studies Staff Run Engaging Esports Camp for Young Aspiring Game Designers

    Two academics from Warwick’s newly established Design division recently delivered a range of engaging activities for an Esports camp aimed at young aspiring game designers.

    Over the Easter holidays, Dr Edward Loveman and Dr James MacKrill were involved in a holiday camp for young attendees aged 4-16, who were able to experience the process of designing games based around sustainability and environmental awareness issues.
