Instructions for Poster Presentations

Size: Posters must be in portrait or landscape layout and size A0. Size requirements must be adhered to so that posters fit within the spaces assigned. If your poster exceeds these specifications, we might not be able to display it.

Location:The Poster Session will take place in the Courtyard, Scarman House. The location of your assigned poster board will be given to you at registration.

Poster set-up: All posters must be on display for the duration of the symposium. Details of setting up times will be sent to you with the joining instructions. Posters will be mounted on felt boards and all materials will be made available at poster set-up.

Judging: The theme for this poster session is ‘Metabolism, Mitochondria and Fatty Acids’ and includes clinical and basic approaches to scientific research. Dr John Clapham (Chair), Professor Caroline Apovian and Professor James Hamilton will be judging this competition. The selection criteria are based on the scientific content and on the quality of the poster presentation.The judging session will take place at 12.45-14.15 on 16 May 2013. Presenters must be available to answer questions on their work between 13.00 and 13.45.

The poster prizes, £100 each, will be awarded to the two best posters, once clinical and one basic research, on display.

The winners will be announced, and will receive their prize, at the end of the symposium.

Removing your poster: Posters must be removed by 18.30 on Thursday 16 May 2013. Posters remaining after this time will be disposed of.

Registration desk: The Registration Desk will be located in the reception area of Scarman House and will open at 8.30 am. Staff will be available to assist you with the mounting of your poster.
