Learn about the changes that occur within the NHS with particular attention to organisational issues, policies and emerging strategies, and appreciate the impact that these changes have had on your own working environment


Learn to:
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of the political context of the NHS and current major issues of strategic direction
  • Demonstrate a systematic understanding of organisational frameworks, methods of analysis and models/theories of health system design
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of the importance of leadership in organisational development and in the development and implementation of health policy and strategy
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of the roles of business planning and marketing in organisational development and in the development and implementation of health policy and strategy
  • Apply conceptual frameworks and methods of analysis to the evaluation and strategic development of their own organisational context
  • Address issues in health policy systematically, creatively and with a capacity for innovation, making sound professional judgements in the absence of complete data and in contexts characterised by complexity and uncertainty.
