Congratulations on achieving your place at Warwick Chemistry! We look forward to meeting you in September and helping you settle into University life. As a new student, you will be assigned a Personal Tutor who will support and guide you during the course of your studies, as well as a student mentor who will be able to share their experience and answer any questions you may have about being a student here at Warwick.
Feel free to drop us an e-mail if you have any queries in the meantime chem-undergraduate at warwick dot ac dot uk.
You don't need to buy anything for your course - we will give you everything you need including access to electronic textbooks, a laboratory coat, safety glasses and a molecular modelling kit. However, if you do want to make a start on some background reading over the summer, we recommend Maths for Chemists by Martin Cockett and Graham Doggett, 2nd edition.
Growing our learning community and giving you the best possible welcome is really important for us. This year we had to adapt and reimagine what we want our community to be like and stand for. This concerned matters of vales, diversity, wellbeing, and staying connected. Our Virtual Common Room hosted in Microsoft Teams has become the main space for us to connect, look after each other and learn in over the last few months. We are excited to welcome you into this space and into our community! The link to join the Virtual Common Room will be shared in the next few weeks. All #WarwickChemFam events, challenges and activities will be hosted there, so do make sure you join as soon as you have created your Warwick IT account and have access to your Warwick email. See you there soon!
