EchoExperience'26 Chicago: Global Learning Ambassador Award foes to Dr Tom Ritchie
Global Learning Ambassador Award...
goes to Dr Tom Ritchie
Dr Tom Ritchie, Reader and Director of Student Experience in the Department of Chemistry, has received Echo360's Global Learning Ambassador award at EchoExperience'26 North America in Chicago.
The award recognises his contribution to the global Echo360 community, including his AI Ethics Now podcast. It follows the AI in Learning Excellence Award he received from Echo360 earlier this year.
Warwick was the only UK university represented at the conference. Tom gave a spotlight session, People, Not Systems: AI, Belonging and Readiness, and joined the closing leadership panel on what must change next in higher education. The session drew on his work on responsible AI adoption in the curriculum, through Warwick's Responsible AI and Digital Sustainability Action Group (RADSAG) and the Centre for Belonging in Education, and on his teaching at Warwick and at Elon University during his 2025–26 US-UK Fulbright year.
On receiving the award, Tom said,
"I'm genuinely grateful to Echo360 for this recognition, and it was a real privilege to represent Warwick in Chicago. The award reflects work I've been lucky to do alongside students, both here and in the US. Most institutions have now adopted AI, but far fewer are ready for it, and readiness comes from people, not systems. That means working with students as partners from the start, and I'm proud that Warwick is helping to lead that conversation internationally."
Congratulations Tom for this well-deserved recognition and doing us proud by representing Warwick and the UK at EchoExperience'26!
