The Bugg Group
Prof Tim Bugg’s research group is based at the Chemical Biology Research Facility (CBRF), in the Department of Chemistry, University of Warwick.
The main research areas of the group are currently:
- Biocatalytic pathways for lignin degradation and production of renewable chemicals
- Investigation of enzymes involved in bacterial peptidoglycan biosynthesis

- PhD (University of Cambridge) 1986-1989 Supervisor Prof. C. Abell.
- Postdoctoral Research (Harvard Medical School) 1989-1991, Supervisor Prof. C. T. Walsh.
- Lecturer in Organic Chemistry (University of Southampton), 1991-1999.
- Professor of Biological Chemistry (University of Warwick), since September 1999.
