Rob Deller awarded RSC travel grant
Rob has recieved a bursary to attend the Chemical Tools and Challenges in Systems Biology Conference in London, later this year. Well done!
5 new PhD students join the team
From today, 5 new PhD candidates join the MIG group. Dan Phillips, Caroline Moore, Sarah-Jane Richards, Thomas Congdon and Alaina Emmanuella.
They will be working on a huge range of projects from fundemental polymer synthesis, pathogenic diagnostic tools, cryopreservation mechanisms all the way to molecular modelling of polymers at interfaces!
Good luck to everyone!
Ajit and Yussif complete AS:MIT projects
Ajit and Yussif handed in their final AS:MIT reports today. They both completed challenging projects at the Chem/bio interface and their results will guide some of our future studies. Good luck to both of them in the future!
Sarah-Jane Richards joins the group
Sarah-Jane is joining us for 2 Months as part of her MOAC DTC course. She will be investigated the interactions between bacterial toxins and biomimetic surfaces.
AS:MIT students join the Team
Yussif Saaka and Ajit Raghuwanshi join us for the next 5 months as part of their AS:MIG (analytical science) master's degree. They will be working on (i) new, ultra-sensitive methods for quantitive evaluation of protein-ligand interactions to measure the efficacy of anti-infectives; (ii) interaction of stimuli responsive polymers with biological membranes to develop more effective and safer drug delivery systems.
Work highlighted on Leverhulme Trust Website
A recent collaborative project grant between Gibson and Notman is highlighted on the Leverhulme Trust's webpage.
