Lucas Al-Shok
Lucas graduated in 2019 from the Humboldt University Berlin (Germany) with a Master in Chemistry.
During his bachelor's degree he looked at the synthesis and functionalisation of periodic copolymers under the supervision of Dr. Niels ten Brummelhuis and Prof. Hans Börner.
During his masters he undertook an internship at the University of Warwick within the group of Prof. Sébastien Perrier. He therefore studied the self-assembly of cyclic peptide polymer conjugates.
Eventually, he completed his master's project at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research IAP in Potsdam (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Böker and Prof. Hans Börner. His research was involved in studying the surface behaviour of the transmembrane protein FhuA.
In October 2019 Lucas joined the Haddleton Group as a PhD student funded by the AS CDT program and Syngenta. His current project includes the synthesis of biodegradable polymers via Tin(II)-catalysed Ring-Opening Polymerisation and the investigationof their microstructure mainly via MALDI-ToF-MS.
