Education

The University of Warwick

(2021-present) - MChem (with Honours)

Previous Research

(July-August 2024) - 3D Printing for the Release of Therapeutic Peptides (Haddleton Group URSS)

  • Using digital light processing VAT photopolymerisation in the absence of water to sustainably and cost efficiently fabricate 3D PHEA objects

  • Incorporation of disulfide functionality in resin formulations for reversible conjugation of cysteine containing peptides.
  • Formation of hydrogels, characterisation and control of swelling behaviour
  • Chemically controlled incorporation and release of peptide with monitoring via UV-vis spectrophotometry

Current Research

(2024-present) - Anionic polymerisation in flow for the synthesis of bio-based surfactants

  • Alkyl lithium initiated anionic polymerisation of myrcene, a naturally occurring, plant-based monoterpene monomer

  • ⍵-chain-end carboxylation of polymyrcene for versatile end-functionalisation

  • Polymyrcene carboxylate-sugar coupling for formation of hydrophilic end

  • Use of continuous flow for efficient gas-liquid mixing, optimisation of conditions and real time GPC-SEC analysis

  • Characterisation including MALDI-TOF-MS, GPC and DSC
