Jasmin Menzel
Biography
Born in Freilassig (Germany) in 1982, Jasmin studied Chemistry at Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2003-2005) and Polymer & Colloid Chemistry at Universität Bayreuth (2005-2008) to obtain the degree of Diplom-Chemikerin Univ. (Polymer- und Kolloidchemie) in 2008. Before starting her Diplom-Arbeit (similar to a Master project) she worked at Unilever Research & Development in Port Sunlight for 5 months in 2007/08. She joined the Haddleton Polymer group at the University of Warwick in 2009 for a PhD project funded by Unilever and did research for materials with potential applications in hair care products. She graduated in July 2012 and has moved back to Germany to work as a trainee in a large international company, developing materials for sealing products.
Research interest
CCTP; RAFT; SET-LRP; thiol-ene coupling; end-group modification of polymers; hair & personal care products; polymer architectures like hyperbranched polymers, di-/triblock copolymers and brush-like polymers; polymer analysis.
