Sam Lawton
Samuel Lawton (AMRSC)
Biography:
Sam was born in Oxfordshire in 1991. In 2010 he moved to Warwickshire to undertake his MChem at the University of Warwick including a 20 week project "synthesis of patterned graphene nano-ribbons" under the supervision of Patrick Unwin in the WIEG, before graduating with a first class honours degree in July 2014. Later in July Sam started his PhD with the Haddleton group entitled "Structure-property relationships of conjugated polymers" Sponsored by Merck.
Sam's work focuses on the synthesis and analysis of a variety of conjugated polymers, using various analytical techniques to characterise materials and in turn discern how the distinct structure of various polymers effects the physical properties.
Research Interests:
Conjugated polymers
Photovoltaics
Electrochemically mediated polymerisations
