Internationalisation

Global and connected

Chemistry's numerous international collaborations provide teaching and research project opportunities open to both undergraduates and postgraduates students. We are a learning community with diverse interests and a global outlook, so we made sure to design programmes with something for everyone. Whether you are a home student looking to find out more about the latest global trends in Chemistry research, or an international student interested in applying your degree in the industry or maybe your own start up, there are opportunities to learn from and be inspired by both our staff and your fellow students.

In the curriculum

Chemistry is a discipline with a global mindset and reach. From the research challenges we solve to the global industry partners we work with, our learning experience is defined by a 'think global, act local' ethos. Chemistry students are embedded within the research culture of the department where the push the boundaries of their learning in the lab in and in the classroom. Our first year core modules embed Warwick's innovative intercultural training programme to ensure students grow intercultural competencies and global mindset from day 1. Building on this, we explore global climate, energy, materials, healthcare challenges as part of our modules and student research projects, as well as offer a range of international placement and mobility opportunities.

As part of our community

Outside of your home department there is a range of opportunities to immerse yourself into Warwick's intercultural and international experience.

International mobility opportunities

Chemistry in an active member of the ERASMUS scheme, with our students having access to placements with our 7 European partners as well as welcoming visiting students into our global learning community in return. There is an exciting exchange scheme available to both undergraduate and postgraduate taught students with Monash and NTU in Singapore and a brand new partnership with the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) whereby our undergraduate and postgraduate research students are able to spend 3 months away. Chemistry students also get to benefit and learn from the IAESTE scheme, which we also participate in. Find out more about those exciting possibilities on our Placements and Internships page.

You can also access opportunities available outside of your department, available to all students. To find out more about these opportunities, your eligibility and what to expect, visit Study Abroad pages or contact Warwick's student mobility team.

Developing global skills

Warwick has developed an innovative intercultural training programme, designed to help enrich your intercultural experience as part of your University journey. It consists of interactive workshops, online modules, reflective exercises, and an employability workshop.
