Research Title:
Cardiovascular disease in Sierra Leone: addressing the risk factors, burden and barriers.
About my research:
Non-communicable diseases – in particular cardiovascular diseases (CVD) represent major health problems which can impede healthy longevity. As Sierra Leone recovers from civil war and Ebola, an increase in gross domestic products is likely to be accompanied by an increasing burden of CVD. My research aims to explore the risk factors, the prevalence and barriers associated with CVD. Findings from my research will help to inform Sierra Leone’s future NCD policy along with supporting it to achieve its 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
