Energetics : from eukaryotes to man

Overview

The purpose of this workshop is to train delegates to use the seahorse analyser to study metabolism in different tissues.

The programme of the day will include lectures by Professor Orian Shirihai (Boston University School of Medicine, USA), Professor David Nicholls (Buck Institute for Research on Aging, USA) and Dr Charles Affourtit (Plymouth University, UK) in the morning. This session will take place at Scarman House, Coventry, UK.

In the afternoon, delegates will have the opportunity to be trained on the Seahorse analyzer XF24 by carrying out an experiment on this equipment. This session will take place at the Clinical Sciences Building, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, Coventry, UK.

Transport will be provided to the Hospital and back to Scarman House at the end of the day. Lunch and refreshments are included in the delegate price.
