International Women's Day 2023
Wednesday 8 March 2023 - 'Embrace Equity'
Register here
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people.
This year the theme is 'Embrace Equity' to create a fair and equal world for all.
'Equity isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have' and this year we would like to support IWD in a number of ways. There are two sub strands relevant and aligned to WMS Values;
- Health strand - International Women's Day: Women & Health (internationalwomensday.com)
- Workplace strand - International Women's Day: Women & Work (internationalwomensday.com)

Show your support visually - and be part of the WMS Campaign for IWD
We would like to visually support this across our social media channels and in our communications and would love our WMS community to get involved.
we are encouraging individuals at all levels and across all divisions to show support and solidarity for 'Embracing Equity' as part of IWD by sending a photo and any relevant quotes they wish to have attributed to their image in the IWD pose you can see here .
We would like to share these as part of our communications for IWD and need to have as many images as possible – ideally to create a video and static image to visually represent WMS’s support for these important themes as part of IWD. Please send your images to wms.comms@warwick.ac.uk or contact us if you would like us to pop in and take some pics of your team to include in the campaign.
