Leica DMi8 widefield fluorescence microscope
Page in progress.
Leica DMi8 inverted widefield microscope.
- Monochrome camera for epi-fluorescence imaging
- Colour camera for brightfield (e.g. good for histology)
- Objectives:
- 4x 0.13NA air (HC PL FLUOTAR)
- 10x 0.45NA air (HC PL APO)
- 20x 0.8NA air (HC PL APO)
- Note: there's no oil objective so the maximum resolution is ~390nm laterally (XY) and ~1600nm axially (Z) with the 20x objective. The resolution and optical sectioning can be further improved with deconvolution. The 20x is slightly undersampled (1.35x) on the monochrome camera, but should still work with deconvolution using 0.65 μm slice spacing.
- Filters for blue/green/red/far-red
- Automated stage
- Accepts standard microscope slides (max length 124.0 mm; min length 30.0 mm) and circular dishes (max diameter 68.0 mm), uses Pecon's Universal Mounting Frame K. Also accepts standard well plates, but you need to swap out the default stage adpator, ask CAMDU before doing this, uses Pecon's Universal Mounting Frame KM.
- No environmental controls (i.e. no heating/CO2), so fixed or room temperature samples only
Filters:
- Blue: Ex 405/60, Dichroic 455
- Green: Ex 480/40, Dichroic 505
- Red: Ex 546/10, Dichroic 560
- Far-red: Ex 620/60, Dichroic 660
