This study is an evaluation of Macmillan Primary Care Nurse Facilitator Role and the Macmillan Cancer Care Course for Practice Nurses in Coventry, Rugby and Warwickshire CCG areas.

The Macmillan Cancer Care Course for practice nurses aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, attitudes and confidence of practice nurses to take a more active role in managing cancer as a long-term condition. The evaluation focusses on investigating the impact of the Macmillan Cancer Care Course on practice nurse perceptions and cancer related activity including perceived benefits and strategies for overcoming challenges in application.

The research team’s role is:

  • To design, lead and conduct the evaluation while working in partnership with the stakeholders.
