Mark graduated from Southampton University with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2001. He then worked within a large teaching hospital, during which time he developed a special interest in the management of acute musculoskeletal injuries and physiotherapy research methodology.</p>He joined the Clinical Trials Unit in November 2004 as a Research Fellow to co-ordinate the Managing Injures of the Neck Trial (MINT). Mark's doctoral thesis investigated the diagnosis and prognosis of Whiplash Associated Disorders. Mark is currently trial lead for the SARAH trial which is investigating the effect of strengthening and stretching exercises for people with Rheumatoid Arthritis of the hands. He is also the project lead for a feasibility study investigating conservative treatments for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (ACTIvATeS study).
