A sound knowledge of occlusal principles is essential for any dental surgeon who is providing Orthodontic treatment. Failure to apply these principles may well result in a less than ideal treatment plan and instability of the final occlusion.
Aims to:
- promote an understanding of the fundamentals of occlusion
- promote an understanding of occlusion as it applies to Orthodontics
- promote an understanding of the relationship of Temporo-Mandibular Joint dysfunction and occlusion and Orthodontics
- promote an understanding of the current literature
- promote an understanding of the force systems available
- promote an understanding of laboratory communication
- promote an understanding of the medico-legal implications and responsibilities associated with treatment
