• provide an understanding of factors involved in treatment planning
• provide the opportunity to evaluate extraction v. non-extraction treatment option
• have knowledge of the effects of extractions on facial profile
• provide an understanding of the relevance and effects of extraction of different teeth
• to provide an opportunity for group interactive learning in a structured manner

Objectives:

Following Day 5 dental surgeons should be able to:

• understand what effects extraction of teeth will have on the facial profile and intra-orally

• identify features of malocclusions which contra-indicate extraction treatment
