Why did you pick BSc Health and Medical Sciences?

I knew I wanted to study something health related but did not know which aspect of healthcare I wanted to focus on. After I found out about BSc Health and Medical Sciences, I realised I did not have to choose just yet as the course is structured to teach you about the complex health problems from variety of perspectives. That is what appealed to me the most.

Why did you choose Warwick?

I chose Warwick because of its teaching excellence and because it is technologically equipped well. Apart from that I liked that it is one of the newer universities in the UK and that it is a campus university, as I think that contributes to a strong sense of community.

How have you found the course so far?

I have been absolutely thrilled with the course so far. Even though the content is challenging at times, I find it very interesting. The Warwick Medical School staff have been extremely helpful and approachable which has enhanced the experience.

How have you found the change from College/Sixth Form to University?

I have found the change really exciting. Going to university pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you much more independent. The people I've met so far were possibly the best part of the experience because they come from all over the world and there is so much to learn from them, whereas prior to going to university I've been mostly surrounded with individuals very similar to myself.

What have you enjoyed the most about the course so far?

Case Based Learning (CBL) sessions are what I enjoyed the most so far. I feel like they are a quite innovative and effective way of learning which teaches you about both course content and teamwork.

Have you been involved in any extracurricular activities?

I have joined Warwick Anti Sexism Society and Warwick Amnesty and loved it so far. It is almost impossible to not find at least one society that appeals to you and they are a great thing to involve in in your free time.

Do you have an idea what you would like to do when you graduate?

I do not have an exact idea regarding what I would like to do after I graduate, but I do feel comfortable with that right now as the course's flexibility makes me feel like I have a lot of possible options. So far, I am just enjoying the content and slowly realising what interests me the most.

Do you have any advice for people applying for the course?

My advice for people applying for the course is to try and avoid getting overwhelmed and not to put themselves under too much pressure. Obviously, it will be needed to put a lot of effort in, but don't forget to have fun along the way.

Finally, what three words would you use to describe your experience of studying at WMS?

I would describe my experience at WMS as exciting, encouraging, and dynamic.
