Why did you choose BSc Health and Medical Sciences at Warwick?

I chose Health and Medical Sciences because I was interested in the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics on the same course. I liked the idea of learning about anatomy and cell biology while also getting to study disease management and epidemiology. The Medical School has a lot of careers support and I was happy to learn that the course provides a wide range of postgraduate opportunities.

I chose to study at Warwick because I think the fact that it is a campus university means that it is a lot easier to commute between lectures and accommodation and there are also a lot more opportunities to build community.

How have you found the course so far?

I have the found the course interesting so far as a lot of the modules cover a diverse range of topics, and I also think it's a course that can challenge me, which is great for personal progress!

How have you found the change from college to university?

I think there is quite a gap between sixth form and university in terms of knowledge, but I think the first module of the course, Concepts in Health and Medical Science, helped me get up to date with information.

What have you enjoyed most about the course so far?

I have enjoyed the case-based learning sessions the most because I think it's easier to learn more in smaller groups and we also get the chance to practise our presentation skills.

Have you been involved in any extra curricular activities/societies?

Yes! There are so many societies and sports groups on campus and I have been involved in dancing, ice skating, baking and I've had the opportunity to run as an events officer for a reading society, which has been a great experience. Societies such as the Homeless Action Society are also a great way to get volunteering experience!

Do you have an idea of what you would like to do when you graduate?

I will most likely go into postgraduate study - I'm most interested in going into medicine or biotechnology.

Do you have any advice for people applying for the course?

My advice would be to make sure you have a great work-life balance. University can be stressful but it is also very important to take care of yourself!

Finally, which three words would you use to describe your experience of studying at WMS?

Engaging, fun and supportive.
