Why did you choose BSc Health and Medical Sciences at Warwick?
I chose Health and Medical Sciences because, although I wasn’t sure which specific career I wanted, I knew I wanted to work in healthcare. The course covers a broad range of topics, allowing me to explore various areas within the field. This flexibility has helped me keep my options open while gaining a clearer idea of the direction I want to take in my future career.
I chose to study at Warwick because I wanted to be at a campus university, and it stood out to me for several reasons. It’s not too far from home, which provides a good balance of independence and proximity to family. The campus offers plenty of activities and opportunities, making it an exciting environment. Additionally, Warwick has a fantastic reputation and provides excellent support for students, which reassured me that it would be the right place to both grow academically and personally.
How have you found the course so far?
So far, the course has been quite interesting. I have enjoyed the modules so far and the mixed learning and assessment methods have kept things interesting.
What have you enjoyed most about the course so far?
I enjoyed CBL (Case Based Learning) sessions as the cases are interesting.
Have you been involved in any extra curricular activities/societies?
Yes I am involved in roller skating, African and Caribbean Society, Black Women's Project and PENSA (Pentecost Students and Associates).
Do you have an idea of what you would like to do when you graduate?
Not quite yet. I am interested in health data science as well as public health. I am considering doing a master's degree.
Do you have any advice for people applying for the course?
Be prepared to learn a range of things and always ask questions if unsure, the lecturers are friendly!
Finally, which three words would you use to describe your experience of studying at WMS?
Variety, close-knit, exciting.
