Module registration

Module registration

The undergraduate handbook indicates which core modules you must take in the specification section for each year of each programme and provides a steer on optional modules.

Physics uses the eVision Module Registration system (eMR). There is eVision guidance which shows the steps to follow on eMR to register your module choices. If you wish to register for any Business School modules, you will also need to use their separate system, my.wbs in addition to eMR.

Please contact the student office for help in the following situations:

Your core modules look incorrect for the programme or year you are in.
You need to make a change outside of the module registration periods.
The student office has contacted you because you are either registered for too many or too few modules. (This is referred to as under or over catting).
You are a non-Physics student wishing to take a Physics module as an option.
You have a question about unusual options or the unusual option form.
You would like our help to communicate with another department about an unusual option choice.

Mitigating circumstances

Submitting mitigating circumstances

The undergraduate handbook provides an overview of the mitigating circumstance process and how it operates in Physics.

The Mitigating Circumstances Officer for Physics, Helen Murray, is based in the student office. If you would like advice specific to your situation, Helen can talk to you (in private if you prefer) about: how the process works, timescales, evidence and give you some insight into what the panel can and cannot recommend. She might also signpost you to sources of further support if appropriate.

If your claim involves coursework or if you have missed the latest deadline for the submission of a claim, Helen can advise you of next steps. If you have a disability or are awaiting a diagnosis, she can also help you with working out whether your situation is best managed through the disability letter / reasonable adjustment process, through the mitigating circumstance process, or a combination of the two.

Transcript

Access your transcript

If you are a current student, you can access a copy of your transcript (known as a Higher Education Achievement Report or HEAR) using the GradIntel account which will be set up for you. All eligible undergraduate students will receive an email to your University email address (approximately at the start of term 2 of your first year) which will provide further details of the GradIntel registration process. You need take no action until you receive this email.

Please note it is important to not amend the email address linked to the GradIntel account until after you have completed the degree. Changing the email address will cause issues with updating your HEAR.

After any results release, transcripts will be updated as soon as possible. If you note your transcript has not been updated, please let us know as we can request for it to be refreshed.

We know that occasionally, for job applications, applications for further study or internships, students need proof of their student status, dates of attendance and likely completion / graduation date in advance of their HEAR being updated. To request this, please email the student office physicsug@warwick.ac.uk from your university email account explaining what you need and indicating any special instruction or deadline.

Reasonable adjustments

Arrange reasonable adjustments

Reasonable adjustments refer to modifications or accommodations made to ensure that you have equal access to education and an inclusive learning environment. These adjustments are considered on an individual basis and are intended to level the playing field, mitigate the impact of your condition, and support you in your academic pursuits.

To find out about support options, schedule a meeting with a Disability Adviser to discuss your individual needs. Once you have agreed for them to do so, they will then contact us to put any agreed reasonable adjustments in place for you. If you have declared a disability on your University application, you still need to meet with a Disability Advisor to agree Reasonable Adjustments, but do not have to have applied for Disabled Student Allowance. The team can also arrange neurodiversity advice discussions (non-diagnostic) for Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, ADD and Autism.
