Other Compound Semiconductors

In addition to the binary semiconductors combining elements from Groups II, III, V and VI, there also exist other materials that adopt different structures using the transition metals.

The following materials all have the half-Heusler structure. This is a cubic structure and consists of four interpenetrating FCC lattices. Three of the lattice points are occupied by one of the elements whilst the fourth lattice consists of vacancies.

  • CoTiSb [1]
  • NiScSb [1]
  • NiTiSn [1]
  • LiBeN [2]
