Solid-state-NMR-workshop-2025

The UK High-Field Solid-State NMR Facility (organiser Professor John Griffin, University of Lancaster) is hosting a free one-day in-person workshop on solid-state NMR for those with limited or no knowledge of solid-state NMR (some experience of liquid-state NMR will be beneficial). The workshop will provide hands-on experience with the most advanced high-field solid-state NMR capabilities available in the UK. There will also be a tutorial on key concepts and techniques in solid-state NMR and NMR crystallography, which is supported by the Collaborative Computational Project for NMR Crystallography. The workshop will be held on Tuesday 18th March 2025 with a dinner for attendees and overnight accommodation provided the evening before.

Workshop outline:

Monday 17th March:

19:00: Dinner for attendees and overnight accommodation provided

Tuesday 18th March:

09:30 - 10:00: Welcome

10:00 - 12:00: Introductory lecture on key concepts and techniques in solid-state NMR and NMR crystallography, including spectral interpretation and analysis

12:00 - 13:00: Lunch and networking session

13:00 - 17:00: Practical demonstration using high-field spectrometer (1 GHz)

17:00 - 18:00: Networking session

Location

The workshop will be held at the UK High-Field Solid-State NMR National Research Facility located at the University of Warwick.

The annual symposium of the UK High-Field Solid-State NMR Facility will take place at the University of Warwick the day after the workshop, and workshop attendees are encouraged to register to attend (accommodation can be provided also for the night of Tuesday 18th March).

Who can apply?

PhD students, research staff (including postdocs, research technical professionals and academic staff members), and industry scientists are invited to apply before the deadline of 31st January 2025. The workshop is free to attend but will be limited to 16 places.

Please apply by completing the below webform:

We will inform successful applicants of their place at the workshop by 7th February 2025.
