Physics Department level 2 floor plan |
If you enter the Physics Department through the Main Entrance on the Ground Floor you will find yourself in the Departmental Foyer.
Take the blue double doors straight ahead of you leading to the stair well. Go up one flight of stairs to level two.
Once you are on level two continue round, past the lift and through another set of blue fire doors into a short corridor (marked in green on the plan above). Room P230 (Dr Dan Mayoh), P236 (Prof. Geetha Balakrishnan, P238 (Prof. Martin Lees), P240 (Dr Oleg Petrenko), and P242 (Prof. Paul Goddard) are in this corridor. If there is no one at home, (unlikely as we all work 24 hours a day, seven days a week!), then you will have to take the lift to the fifth floor where you should find on of the Department's friendly and helpful Departmental Administrative staff.
If you have come into the Physics Department via the Science Faculty Concourse on level 3, then take either set of blue double doors into a stair well. If you are in the foyer stairwell go down one flight of stairs, stop at level two and follow the instructions given directly above. If you are unlucky and you find yourself in the other stairwell you will have to go down to the ground floor (level 1). Exit the stair well through the set of blue fire doors to your right into the loading bay area marked in blue on the level 1 floor plan. Take the corridor highlighted in green that runs along the length of the building. This brings you out into the foyer and you can follow the instructions given above from here on.
