AI for Translation
First of three uses of AI for online job search and application
One of the benefits of AI for online job search and application is its ability to translate the full text from one language to another. This is particularly useful when you are search and applying for jobs that are not in a language you are not your first language.
Although google translate does a good job at translating the text or document, using AI would allow you to specify exactly how you want it translated, by giving you the ability to adjust the translation according to the context. This results in a more accurate translation of the job description.
For example, you could ask AI to translate using the specific terms from a specific industry you are applying for.
There are many AI platforms available online that support different languages including the Arabic language.
Some of these support the Arabic language but are not familiar with the cultural context like ChatGPT العربيةLink opens in a new window
While others are made specifically to target Arabic speaker like:

Regardless of their focus although both types work well for translating job descriptions and job posts.
Remember the AI makes mistakes and sometimes makes up information.
AI Prompts to use for translation
To try to get the most reliable outcome from the AI for translating job descriptions and job posts, below are two prompts that you can use.
Remember, to use the prompts provided in this module, you need to do the following steps:
1- Copy them
2- Paste them into the AI platform
3- Change what is in red in brackets []
It is important to note that similar to the templates in section 3.3 in Module 3Link opens in a new window, anything in red and in brackets [ ] in the prompt provided is information you need to fill by yourself .
a. Prompt to translate job description to get a general idea of the role:
Translate the following job description into [Add target language, which is the language you want to translate to], keeping the professional tone and original meaning intact. Do not summarize or omit details. Here is the text: [paste job description].
b. Prompt to translate the exact job description:
Translate the following job description from [Add source/Original language of the job description] into [Add target language, which is the language you want to translate to]. Requirements:
- Preserve the professional tone and industry-specific terminology used in job posting
- Ensure the translation is clear, natural, and culturally appropriate for a [Add the name of the country that the job is in] audience
- Maintain original formatting, including headings, bullet points, and section order
- Do not add, remove, or interpret content—translate faithfully
- If a term does not have a direct translation, use the closest professional equivalent commonly used in hiring contexts
