Warwick to host IB World Student Conference UK 2013
The University of Warwick will host the first UK International Baccalaureate World Student Conference in August 2013, entitled Utopian Visions: employing the Arts for Social and Political Change. This will be an exciting and stimulating opportunity for students to explore how music, dance, theatre, film, the visual arts, performance and media can be used to commentate on, understand and challenge society and politics. Students will also be able to explore how learning and knowledge can be accessed and improved through creative activity.
New Yorks Mayor praises Warwick CUSP partnership with NYU
Warwick is the only European university involved in the partnership to create New York’s new ‘Center for Urban Science and Progress’ (CUSP).
At a recent forum hosted by The Economic Club of Washington DC, New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg praised all the CUSP partners welcoming the impact New York’s new applied science and engineering campuses, including CUSP, will have on the city and the economy.

One World Week 2012
One World Week is a festival celebrating international culture and diversity that is annually hosted at the University of Warwick. Now in its seventeenth year, One World Week will run from Friday 20 January to Saturday 28 January 2012.
Warwick International Development Summit 2011
The Warwick International Development Summit (WIDS) is being held on 18-20 November with students and key speakers identifying and exploring some of the challenges facing the world. This year’s themes include green economics; climate change; corruption and transparency; and aid, with speakers including UNICEF representatives, economists, academics, members of political parties and activists.
Junior Commission Travels to New York
A delegation of 9 Junior Commissioners is travelling to New York on Tuesday 1 November 2011 to take part in a 5 day programme of activities focussing on the future of energy consumption and how to change behaviour. The Junior Commission is part of IGGY, the International Gateway for Gifted Youth. Whilst there, the Commissioners will be meeting with academic, governmental, NGOs, commercial and community groups involved in energy, climate change and sustainability which will provide them with an intensive and broad introduction to research, policy and activity within the energy field.
