Europe’s ‘Other’ Faith: Islam in German History and its Implications for Britain today

Dr James Hodkinson and Dr. Abdullah Sahin, a leading Islamic educational theorist at the Markfield Institute of Higher Education, Leicester, are delivering a free public lecture in Coventry Cathedral on 4 May 2016, where they will discuss how Islamic faith and culture were represented across German history in the Nineteenth century.

Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary year, 2016, will not only be a celebration of dead white males

Researchers from the Multicultural Shakespeare in Britain Project at the University of Warwick are set to launch a new online Shakespeare performance database on 15 Jan 2016 that holds three years of research which documents and contextualises BAME performers’ crucial yet undervalued contribution to our understanding of Shakespeare - our greatest cultural symbol of ‘Britishness’.

Warwick to award Honorary Degree to 'genre contrarian' M John Harrison

The University of Warwick has announced today, Wednesday 16th of December 2015, that it will award an honorary degree of Honorary Doctor of Letters to Warwickshire born science fiction, fantasy, & climbing writer M John Harrison at one of its winter degree ceremony on Wednesday 20 January 2016.

In Memoriam: Dr Oliver Sacks

The Warwick community is saddened by the death of Dr Oliver Sacks who was a much loved Visiting Professor at the University of Warwick who drew capacity crowds for every lecture and seminar he gave on our campus. Warwick also conferred on him the degree of Honorary Doctor of Science in January 2014.
