Not because I have the pleasure and honour to speak to such an outstanding audience today.

No: this is a special date for the whole of humanity, because, as we all know, on the 13th of July 2305 (two thousand three hundred and five) Jean-Luc Picard takes over from James T. Kirk as the captain of USS Enterprise.

Corner chemists and small photo shops to benefit from new digital 1 hour photo technology

With the rapid growth in mega-pixel digital cameras, colour scanners and the internet a new market is arising for the high street retailer to offer a one hour digital photo printing service, in the same manner as is currently provided for 35mm and APS films. At the moment this requires an investment in a digital minilab, which can cost over £80,000 and is out of reach for most small retailers - especially while digital volumes are still relatively low. However, in future they will be able to compete thanks to new technology being developed by a company "spun out" from research by the University of Warwick.

Fear of Inflation is Skewing Bank of England Inflation Predictions and Limiting Bank's Appetite

On the eve of the publication of the latest Bank of England inflation forecast new research by Professor Ken Wallis of the University of Warwick's Department of Economics shows that the bank's very fear of the consequences of high inflation is feeding into their inflation calculation predictions and skewing the result.

Premier Automotive Group to Collaborate with University of Warwick

Agreement has been reached for a long-term collaboration between the Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick and the Premier Automotive Group.

Warwick Manufacturing Group, part of the University of Warwick, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Premier Automotive Group the Ford owned company of prestige marques, which consist of Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln and Volvo.

China to Sign WTO Accession Documents on November 11th, University of Warwick Explains Why

China is expected to sign the accession documents to the World Trade Organisation on 11th November 2001 even though many believe that the WTO needs China to sign up (to control it and regulate it) more than China needs the WTO.
