5G to rid UK of blackspots, thanks to £210,000 grant for the COCKPIT-5G project

5G will be available across the entire UK as black-spots are being identified by researchers at the School of Engineering, University of Warwick. The project COCKPIT-5G has won a £210,000 grant from Innovate UK, once they’ve identified black-spots they can enhance connectivity for businesses, AI (Artificial Intelligence), driverless cars and manufacturing.


New research finds that artificial intelligence can dramatically cut time needed to process abnormal chest x-rays

New research has found that a novel Artificial Intelligence (AI) system can dramatically reduce the time needed to ensure that abnormal chest X-rays with critical findings will receive an expert radiologist opinion sooner, cutting the average delay from 11 days to less than 3 days. Chest X-rays are routinely performed to diagnose and monitor a wide range of conditions affecting the lungs, heart, bones, and soft tissues.

Warwick awarded £2.3 million to help develop cutting-edge technologies for cancer diagnosis and personalised treatment

Greg Clark, UK Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), will confirm today (Tuesday 6 November) that UK Research and Innovation will invest £10 million in the PathLAKE project as part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. The University of Warwick has been awarded £2.3 million of the funding which will be used to create innovative solutions in digital pathology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to speed up the time in which cancer is diagnosed and treated.

New £2.7m research programme will use Artificial Intelligence powered pedestrians & other road users to test autonomous vehicles

WMG at the University of Warwick have just begun work with a consortium of 11 organisations lead by Latent Logic in Oxford on a £2.7 million UK government funded project to create a highly accurate virtual reality simulator environment, including artificial intelligence (AI) trained models of pedestrians and road users, to test connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs).

AI Network launched to tackle societal issues
