Which kind of permit/certificate do you need? (Under review)

The University operates a permit system for the following permits via the Permit Office.

Please click on the following links to see specific guidance.

Permit Notice Periods

We need sufficient notice to process your request – e.g. if you require a permit for a 10:00am start on Thursday, requiring 3 days notice, you need to get the application in by 10:00am Monday.

Please find the relevant notice periods in the Advice and Guidance section.

If your permit is urgent, i.e. for a reactive job please contact the Permit Office to make them aware so they can deal with it promptly by emailing permitrequest@warwick.ac.uk or calling 07876877905 or 07876217894.

Please see 'Emergency Permits' in Advice and Guidance for more information.

Inclement Weather:

If you have requested permits for staff or contractors during inclement weather, please can you remind them to assess the risk before commencing work if there is or has been heavy rain, wind, extreme hot weather, snow, or ice, particularly if they are carrying out work that would be hazardous in these conditions or to ascertain if there is an increased risk of slips, trips or falls which would require the work to be put on hold for safety reasons.

Inclement weather should always be assessed as a hazard on risk assessments submitted with a work at height permit request. Similarly, work in very hot weather conditions should be assessed.

In the event of high winds, extreme hot weather, snow or ice, the Permit Office may suspend permits.

Please also ask those accessing roofs to photograph and report to their Line Manager/University Contract Manager if they see any excessive pooling of water on roofs or evidence of blocked drain pipes so these can be reported to the Service Desk and rectified.

Construction Site Possession Form:

The Construction Site Possession form should be used when a contractor proposes to use their own permit systems to control any of their activities on site.

To apply for the permit please complete the form below and contact Mark Evans (Construction Project Safety Adviser) and Graham Steer (Programme Manager) to arrange the review meeting for approval.
