New academic year – new library open hours

We are pleased to announce that the main Library building will be opening its doors for Welcome Week 2020, and for the start of term 1. We look forward to welcoming our new students to the Library community, and also to welcoming back our returning students and staff.

For those of you who have used the Library in the past, you will notice some changes. Due to COVID-19 and in order to maintain everyone’s safety, we are operating on reduced hours, and with a limited occupancy. Once the building is full to capacity, we will operate a one in one out system. Therefore, please do make sure you check both opening times, and space availability on our Library web site before visiting.

Whilst we recommend you regularly check the website for opening times, we can confirm that the planned opening hours (at the time of this news release) for the main Library building over coming weeks are:

Early arrivals

Wednesday 23 September to Sunday 27 September: Remains closed

Welcome week

Monday 28 September: 11:00 - 17:30

Tuesday 29 September to Thursday 1 October: 08:30 - 17:30

Friday 2 October: 08:30 - 16:30

Saturday 3 October to Sunday 5 October: Closed

Term 1

Monday 5 October onwards: 08:30 – Midnight

Don’t forget, our other Library spaces including Learning Grid University House, Learning Grid Rootes are already open.

Student takeover!
