Impact Module
Introduction
Welcome to the user guide for the impact module of Symplectic Elements. To the right, you will find a step-by-step written walk-through on how to create, view and add to a record of impact. Below you will find some videos showing the same processes.
What is the module for?
External stakeholders increasingly use impact to explain the role of higher education institutions in addressing complex societal challenges, and impact is a key pillar of the university’s research strategy. Building on our track record of ‘Excellence with Impact’ requires us to foster a culture where impact is integral to our activities; the impact module supports this by providing a secure place to record activities, create notes and evidence about impact, and to collaborate with (internal) colleagues on records.
Researchers can create records of impact, or these can be created and updated by others, including collaborators and Departmental Impact Directors. Staff (professional services, Departmental Impact Directors or others) involved in impact at departmental level can review all records across their department. If you think you should have this access and have followed the steps in the guide and you can't see records for your department, please let your named contact in the impact team in R&IS know, or email research_impact@warwick.ac.uk.
