Want to volunteer as a mentor?

Feedback following our first year of running Thrive clearly demonstrates the value of mentoring – that it provides a safe space for the conversations started during a Thrive programme to continue – with 100% of Thrive mentees recommending working with a mentor as part of the Thrive programme! We are incredibly grateful to our mentoring community for providing this valuable opportunity to our students.

We work with a wide range of women volunteers, working in different roles in different sectors, passionate about personal development, and eager to give back and support other women. Women offer to mentor for a variety of reasons - many speak of holding the door open for those following behind them. If you have experience in mentoring or coaching, or simply an interest in providing a safe and supportive space to listen and encourage other women, please do get touch. Mentors need to be available to offer mentor support between early December to the following summer (at the latest), and we recommend around 4-6 meetings take place, on roughly a monthly basis.

Mentors are provided with guidance and training, and are invited to in-person events on campus.

What students are saying

Thrive was a very informative programme giving you tools and the skills to enhance your personal goals. The programme offered the participants a mentor to support their personal requirement which is brilliant!

Working with a mentor… ‘Helped me get back to doing the things I love and make me happy’

The mentor programme - exceedingly helpful in supporting the blossoming of the career I plan on pursuing after university.
