Archery wins for Warwick
Warwick scholarship athlete, James Woodgate, has reclaimed his national title to win a gold medal in the Senior Men’s Recurve at the National Indoor Archery GB Championships, which took place 3-4 December. The silver medal was won by Warwick alumni, Tom Hall.
It’s fantastic that two Warwick students claimed first and second at the Championships.
James is currently ranked number 1 in the national rankings.
The University of Warwick accredited by TASS
Warwick is leading the way with supporting talented athletes in education in England, having been accredited by an innovative Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) initiative.
Backed by Sport England, the TASS Dual Career Accreditation Scheme allows athletes to reach their potential in education alongside achieving success in their sport, with support services including physiotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle support, psychology strength and conditioning and a private medical scheme.
A dedicated performance team at the Sports and Wellness Hub support student athletes during their studies at Warwick, providing a comprehensive range of services including financial assistance, bespoke strength & conditioning, lifestyle and nutrition support and physiotherapy.
Being a TASS Dual Career Accredited Site allows Warwick to attract talented athletes and build connections with other local sporting institutions.
Warwick scholar brings home 2 World Para-athletics Championships silver medals
University of Warwick Sports Scholar, Kare Adenegan won two silver medals in wheelchair racing at the championships in Dubai in the T34 800m and 100m races.
Warwick scholar takes home BUCS National Championships gold
University of Warwick Sports Scholar Yasmin Liverpool won the Gold in the 400m sprint at the BUCS National Championships in Sheffield on 17 February. The British Universities & College Sports National Championships are held yearly and play host to the top athletes from all over the country.
Mens & Women's Volleyball Clubs make Student Cup Finals
Both men’s and women’s teams fought hard at the Student Cup qualifiers in November 2018, and both of them made it to the Student Cup finals in Norwich! Once more, they both proved to be among the top 16 University volleyball teams in the country.

Great results for our Performance Sport Rowing teams at Wallingford, Oxfordshire last weekend. Finishing 3rd in Open 8+ Band 2, which consisted of so many crews our team will undoubtedly be competing for spaces at Henley Royal Regatta.
Warwick Sport takes home two national sector awards
On Thursday 12 July we were awarded two national sector awards for our participation programme at Warwick and our reshaping sport campaign in the ‘take a stand award’ in the most recent BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) Conference where Universities from across the UK come together to share, discuss and honour best practice across the sector.
