YEAR ABROAD 24/25 - Pre-departure meeting slides and important info

Slides we went through in pre-departure presentations are here along with all of the required links. (see below)

A few key points to remember:

  • We will contact you through your Warwick email before and during your year abroad. Please check this regularly.
  • You will be required to confirm your arrival at your host destination within 24 hours. We will be in touch with instructions on how to do this.
  • If you have any additional support needs or anything the host should be aware of to ensure you have the required support in place, please reach out to the host or Student Mobility team so we can liaise with the host on your behalf and let us know. Unless you disclose something directly to us, we will not know as this information is not shared between different departments at Warwick.
  • We are keen to raise the profile of Warwick at our partner universities. We have a limited number of t-shirts available that we would love it if you could wear whilst on campus when you are away.
  • These were unfortunately only received in time for the second pre-departure meeting, but if you would like one, they will be available for collection from the front desk in the Student Opportunity hub from 2pm on Tuesday 21 May. We only have a limited supply so once they are gone, they are gone!
  • If you need to contact the Student Mobility Team before or during your placement, please join one of our weekday online drop in sessions. Links and details of timings are on the front page of the Student Mobility Website
  • If you would like to be connected with students travelling to your host country, please complete the short form (see link below) . We will connect you over your Warwick email.
  • Frequently asked questions, with answers, from the pre-departure briefings have been summarised in the attached document.

Best of luck with your final arrangements for your year abroad and have an incredible time

YEAR ABROAD 24/25 - Online information sessions to apply for year abroad 2024/25. Slides and recording included.

The time has come for second year students (and some first year if your department allows it) to consider whether they might be interested in going on a year abroad next year (2024/25)!

The Student Mobility team hosted two introductory online information sessions about year abroad, how the application process will work and an introduction on timelines for application.

Europe Country-wide Student Mobility Support Session February 2023

This isn’t a formal session. It is designed to try to give you as much information and support as we can as you start preparing. At the end are all the questions that we received at the online sessions together with the answers. There is a slide that gives you the times and dates of the international meetings, please join as many as you need or want to.

I apologise for it not to be a recording but technology was working against me and I didn't want to delay putting the information here for you to see.

Outbound students from Warwick to Europe

We are receiving feedback from students that you may need to provide a document showing that Warwick and your Host University have agreed on your mobility at your visa appointment.
