The Travel Survey is one of our regular large-scale student surveys undertaken every year, with 1,537 student responses in the 2024/25 academic year.

Your voice travels

Here are some of the actions we have taken so far as a result of feedback from the Travel Survey:

  • Added more covered cycle parking and access controlled parking facilities.

There are three bike hangars available to staff and students for controlled bike storage at the mobility hubs, located outside the Junction building, Car Park 1 on Gibbet Hill campus and Argent Court. (Bike HangarsLink opens in a new window)
  • Extended the campus mobility lane to cover the whole Academic Loop Road and improved signage on shared paths

  • Delivered new initiatives and reward programmes, including challenges and prizes via Warwick Green RewardsLink opens in a new window. Green Rewards is an online web platform and app where you log your sustainable actions—like active travel, recycling, and sustainable shopping—and earn Green Points as a result.

Every month, twelve £10 vouchers are awarded to users who have earned more than 2,500 Green Points.

Other improvements

We are always working to improve your experiences on campus and as a result of feedback we have also made the following changes:

Lighting was a concern for students around some bus stops on campus, alongside overcrowding around the bus interchange. Students told us about their journeys to and from campus, for example, travelling home after a night out or after a late night studying.

To improve transport safety on campus, we have:

  • Run additional lighting surveys to ensure that dark spots on roads or pathways identified as part of the survey have been investigated and fixed.
  • We will carry out further inspections as we are into the darker nights.

  • Had discussions with both National Express and Stagecoach to discuss the findings of the survey, and are working with them on how to better highlight what people can do on a bus if they are feeling unsafe.
  • We are independently monitoring the bus interchange following concerns around queuing management at peak hours to better understand the issues, and improvements that can be made.
