Elaine works closely with Centre students providing general wellbeing, practical study support advice and guidance.


As a previous adult return learner Elaine has a wealth of work and study experience, fully appreciating the challenges of maintaining a good study ethic whilst also balancing work and family commitments.


What happens in an appointment?


    • Appointments are 1:2:1 and either face to face or telephone lasting approximately 30 to 45 minutes. The aim of the session is unique to each student and focuses on finding practical solutions.
    • A pastoral, wellbeing or personal issue will involve focused listening, objectivity, practical advice and guidance, aspects of coaching or sign posting to more appropriate specialist services within the University or externally. It is not a counselling session.
    • A study related issue may involve practical study plans, time management, organisational skills and referencing. It does not include proof reading or subject specific academic writing advice.
