The Navaratri festival celebrates the overthrow of the evil demon Mahishasura by the goddess Durga. It is popularly known as the festival of dance, and each day is associated with the colour of the day. In this zine-making workshop, you will make your own small DIY easy-to-make booklet, from exploring the nine days of colour or the Durga’s goddess’s association to protection, strength, motherhood, and destruction. Tarla Patel is a multidisciplinary artist from Coventry with a socially engaged practice. She works with various materials, from film photography to new media. She is interested in how we connect through art with people and places.
