How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Stress Awareness Month

Runs from Saturday, April 01 to Sunday, April 30.

What could you do for Stress Awareness Month?

Talk about Stress and its effects to reduce the stigma that is associated with stress by talking about the topic openly and freely with friends, family and colleagues.

Share your coping mechanisms – if something has worked for you why not share it. It might benefit someone you care about and in the meantime, it might help you take your focus off your own challenges.

Be nice to those who are stressed and anxious – we are all undoubtedly going to experience stress and anxiety in our lifetime so treat others going through wit with compassion and empathy.

Look after yourself – we all need to think more about self –care. Take time out of your day to relax or do something that you enjoy. Don’t forget to exercise and eat well, even when you feel too stressed.

The most crucial thing you can do when you are stressed or anxious is to make sure you are continuing to look after yourself. Make time to relax when you need to and learn to say no to requests that are too much for you.

Chat Central Weekly Walk

Chat Central is a National Lottery Funded project that helps people to find others with similar interests, to have fun, get out of the house, join in with a hobby, get involved with their community and to find new friends.

We help people to explore their interests and start doing the things they want to do.

This might be:

  • meeting new friends
  • rediscovering interests
  • finding new ones
  • building confidence
  • volunteering

Chat Central runs a supportive weekly City Walk. On average there is about eight of us who turn up and we are all ages. We meet rain or shine, to offer a friendly face and some fresh air in a group setting.

We decide where we will walk on the day depending on the weather, what's going on in the city and the mobility of the people in the group but we do rotate the walks to keep things fresh and interesting!

The group meets outside The Transport Museum every Friday at 10am

You just turn up and there is no need to worry about cancelling if you are having a busy day or don't feel up to it.

Please note the walk is adults only: 18 +

Call Nicky for more information on 07541343491.
