Studying after the first assignment failed

I applied to the foundation course on a bit of a whim after starting a new role as a teaching assistant. I really wasn’t sure that university was for me when I was younger but now was time to test the waters.

The first assignment happened and I can honestly say my grade was a fail, it was a big leap and I questioned if I made the right choice. The support from tutors and peers has been more than I could have imagined, with everyone wanting to see you succeed.

This course has given me the opportunity to meet people from different areas of the Early Childhood sector who all share a passion for sharing and gaining knowledge.

A key aspect that you will gain from this course is to ask "why?" "Why do we do it that way?" It will be thought-provoking and make you look into the background of theory, legislation and opinion to help you form your own.
The course is not an easy ride, the style of writing can be difficult to get to grips with but there are many tools available to guide you through on the online platforms and in sessions.

Four years later after that first assignment knocked my confidence, I am celebrating a 2:1 with SEND specialism. I have thoroughly enjoyed the exposure to different opinions and experiences of my peers and tutors. It has supported me within my current role as a teaching assistant and has given me multiple options of where to go next.

Challenge yourself and reap the rewards of how far you can go!
