Wellbeing Support at University

While you’re at university it is important that you take care of both your physical and mental wellbeing. In this section there is information on how to access the Wellbeing Services and the self help resources. It also includes advice from current students on how to manage your wellbeing and how to make friends at university.

Managing your wellbeing

It is important that you register at the Warwick Health Centre, you can even do it online before you arrive. The health centre is the local GP surgery and it is situated in the heart of campus.

It is also important to take care of your mental health and sometimes reaching out for help can be a scary experience. However the Wellbeing Support Services range of services that can help you to develop the personal resources and skills you need to navigate the challenges and opportunities of student life.

After an initial consultation, the team will help you to identify the next steps and decide on the type of support you many need. In addition to one to one support, Wellbeing Support Services also provides:

Self Help Resources

There are also self help resources which are available to be accessed online at any point by anyone. They cover a wide variety of topics such as imposter syndrome, healthy relationships, managing deadlines, anxiety, self care etc. The resources include more information on each topic, where to get more support and advice on dealing with the issue.

Making Friends

At Warwick, we have a very diverse community so you're bound to meet a variety of different people from many countries and different backgrounds. You'll have so many opportunities to make new friends during your time at Warwick. The most important thing to remember is that everyone is in the same boat. Most people come to university not knowing anyone else so everyone is a little nervous. Just take it one step a time.
